Nancy Lorene Hutson, 71, of Nelson, formerly of Sedalia, died Monday, March 17, 2003, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

She was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Marshall, a daughter of Richard William "Juicy" and Laura Gennieviv Huffman Sprigg.

Mrs. Hutson was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a 1950 graduate of Marshall High School, where she was a cheerleader. She was a rainbow girl when she was younger. She was a professional singer in her younger years, appearing with various dance bands in this area, New York, Chicago and Phoenix. She had been on the Jimmy Dallas Show in Kansas City, the Red Foley Show in Springfield and appeared with Johnny Cash in Jefferson City. She retired from the Department of Energy in Las Vegas and was a retired data processor for Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

Surviving are a son, Lawrence Lavers of Blackwater; a daughter, Christine Ellen Walker of Kansas City; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

There will be no funeral services. The body was cremated.
