William M. Jacques, 47, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at his home.
He was born August 23, 1955, in El Paso, Texas, son of Conrad and Martha Martinez Ruybal.
William was a former Marine reservist and was very proud of serving his country. He liked to hunt and fish and had trophies to show his skills. He was an outdoor person and when moving to this area he moved into a house in the country. His occupation early on was in carpentry where he advanced from
framing homes, to being a finishing carpenter. However, moving into this area, he found a home with River Valley Rendering Plant in Sedalia, where he was employed for two years. He enjoyed his work so much he hardly ever missed a day. He never missed a day of visiting his parents going or coming from work. He was always willing to work overtime. He was fascinated in Indians and their way of life. He collected pictures and artifacts of them. He tanned pelts, collected bones and skulls, which he carved or painted. He was a model son with his cheerful outlook and his independence. He was a remarkable uncle to his nephews and nieces, and the whole family will truly miss him.
Survivors include two brothers, Alfred Jacques of California and Bernard Bierschbach of Sedalia; a sister, Virginia Privett; a brother-in-law, Bradley; four nephews; six nieces; aunts, Chole Abreo, wife of John Abreo, Eva Olivas, wife of Jose Olivas, and Velia Gutieres; and an uncle, Joaquin Martinez, husband of Licha Martinez; and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with Father Jack Behen officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Privett, Victor Gonazales, Mike Nelson, Rick Lindgren, Bernard Bierschbach and Derek Garrigus.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Monday.
