Goldy M. Jaeger, 93, of Smithton, died Sunday evening, February 22, 2004 at Fair View Nursing Home.
She was born October 16, 1910, in Florence, Missouri, daughter of Louis and Mattie Stoecker Rehmer. On August 9, 1931, in Smithton, she married George J. Jaeger, who died in 1970.
Mrs. Jaeger was a member of Smithton United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Goldy attended Trinity Lutheran Church and school in Pyrmont, Missouri, during her childhood. After her marriage to George in 1931, they moved to a farm near Smithton, where they resided until she moved to the town of Smithton in 1975. In 1999, she moved to Stoney Ridge Village in Sedalia. Goldy will be fondly remembered for her many quilts and pies donated to the Smithton United Methodist Church Lord's Acre Sale.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Antoine, of Sedalia; a son, Dennis Jaeger, of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Cindy Gerke, Larry Jaeger, Kyle Antoine, Carolee Gipson, Chris Jaeger and David Jaeger; six great grandchildren, Travis Gipson, Nicole Gipson, Whitney Antoine, Garrett Antoine, Tyler Gerke and Adam Gerke; and a friend of the family, Betty Woodall. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Jaeger; her parents; two brothers, Oscar Rehmer and Amos Rehmer; and two sons, Charles Jaeger and Kenneth Jaeger, in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 25 at Smithton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bob Clyde officiating.
Pallbearers will be Chris Jaeger, David Jaeger, Kyle Antoine, Larry Jaeger, Nick Gerke and Homer Jaeger.
Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 24 at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
