Lewis Paul Jenkins, 82, of Las Animas, Colorado, formerly of Sedalia, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, in LaJunta, Colorado.
He was born November 2, 1920, in Sedalia, son of Jonathon Otto and Linnie Jenkins.
While living in Sedalia, Mr. Jenkins was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and was employed by Missouri-Pacific Railroad Shops in the sheet metal department for over ten years. He later moved to Las Animas, Colorado, and became active in the automobile business as a Ford and Mercury dealer for 35 years. He is a member of the First Nazarene Church in LaJunta.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Edna Jenkins, of the home; a son, Paul John Jenkins of Las Animas; a granddaughter, Paula Kay Fahrenholtz of Wichita, Kansas; and four sisters, Opal White of Greenville, Illinois, Beulah Mae Krzoski of Harrisburg, Missouri, Helen Cairer of Sedalia, and Ruth Krzoski of Hutchinson, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2003, at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Wedel officiating.
Pallbearers will be Robert Castor, Rhonda Chalfant, Karen Fowler, David Krzoski, Adam Fahrenholtz and Sharon Moyer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Landis, John White, Dean Moore and Gerald Anderson.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2003, at the funeral home. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
