Jess “Bill” George Jones, of Sedalia, died Friday, January 21, 2005, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
Mr. Jones, formerly of Des Moines, Iowa, is survived by his wife, Iris.
Mr. Jones was a veteran of the African campaign, World War II. He served in the Army Air Corps from November 1942 to November 1945, reaching the rank of staff sergeant.
Also surviving are a daughter, Patricia Ann Duinink, of Monroe, Iowa; two sons, Roy M. Jones, of Urbandale, Iowa, and Robert D. Jones, of Lincoln, Nebraska; a step-daughter, AnnMarie D. Jackson, of Overland Park, Kansas; four step-sons, John M. Dickinson, of Britt, Minnesota, Thomas E. Dickinson, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Grant Dickinson, of Marshall, and Scott R. Dickinson, of Mt. Iron, Minnesota; fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Bowers, of Pleasantville, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2005, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Houston Shriners Hospital in care of the funeral home.
