Anita Karaty, 88, of Sedalia, died Monday, November 10, 2003 at Stoney Ridge Village.
She was born February 13, 1915, in Paterson, New Jersey, daughter of Charles and Helen McClaren Wehner. On June 6, 1942, in New Jersey, she was married to Edward Karaty, who died August 31, 1994.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Joe and Barb Karaty of Sedalia; a grandson, Patrick Karaty of Sedalia; two step grandchildren, Lacy McClain of Sugar Creek, Missouri and Luke Vollenwieder of Lexington, Missouri; and a sister, Mazie Wilihoski of West Paterson, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Charles Wehner; and a sister, Dorothy Wehner.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 12 at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
There will be no family visitation, however friends may call after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also sign the guest register online at www.heckart-gillespie.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Shepherd's Chapel in Gravette, Arkansas in care of the funeral home.
