John Killion, 95, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at Rest Haven Convalescent Home.
He was born November 28, 1909, in Pettis County, son of Joseph Andrew and
Sally Ann McCallester Killion. On October 8, 1944, in Salina, Kan., he was married to Florence A. Johnson, who died April 6, 2002.
Mr. Killion attended Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. He was a 1928 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, and working in his yard and orchard. He farmed with his son.
Survivors include a son, Bill Killion, and his wife, Virginia, of Sweet Springs; two
grandchildren, Diana Langkraehr, of Concordia, and David Killion, of Overland Park,
Kan.; two great grandchildren, Craig Sims and Cody Langkraehr; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul T. Killion and William Earl Killion; and four sisters, Viola Grove, Florence Graves, Louise Koelling, and Sally Killion, in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Harrelson, Craig Sims, David Killion, Bill Killion, Stan
Jobe, Mark Langkraehr and Cody Langkraehr. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Dabner, Bob Hoard and Sam Rothrock.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
