Mrs. Knapp was a member of First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed serving her church family for many years. She was active in her Sunday School class and had been a volunteer in the church office for several years. Previously, she and Dan had worked together teaching Sunday School in several of the local nursing homes and visiting members of the church who were homebound.

Surviving are a daughter, Tia Whitney, and her husband, Don, of Chinle, Arizona; two grandchildren, Katy and Corey Whitney, of Flagstaff, Arizona; a sister, Betty Guittar, of Greenwood, Missouri; and two brothers, Edward McKenzie, of Ocala, Florida, and Mike McKenzie, of Florissant, Missouri.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Beulah McKenzie; and her father, M.J. McKenzie.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Drew Hill officiating.

Casket bearers will be Robin Guittar, Burford Guittar, Kenny Poe, Owen Fox, Herschel Cantrell and Monte Richardson.

Burial will be in Green Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church Library Fund.
Dorothy Louise Knapp, 71, of Sedalia, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, in Chinle, Arizona. Mrs. Knapp had recently moved to Arizona to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

She was born May 10, 1937, in Sedalia, a daughter of M.J. and Beulah Evans McKenzie. On Aug. 17, 1958, in Moberly, she was married to Daniel Knapp, who died April 1, 1998.
