Larry D. Knox, 63, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, at Bothwell Regional
Health Center.
He was born Dec. 12, 1942, in St. Joseph, a son of Dean and Nevada Bennett Knox. On Sept. 10, 1974, in St. Joseph, he was married to Alice L. Peirano, who survives of the home.
Mr. Knox was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a machine operator
at Alcan Cable, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed sports, fishing and spending time with his
grandchildren. In his younger years, he ran in marathons.
Also surviving are a son, Kollin Knox, and his wife, Laura, of Platte City; two daughters, Kristi Miller, and her husband, Faron, of Sedalia, and Kara Eaton, and her
husband, Tom, of Blue Springs; two stepsons, Edward Miller, of Omaha, and Craig
Miller, of Lee’s Summit; his mother, Nevada Heinz, of St. Joseph; a brother, Ronald
Knox, of Moberly; and 12 grandchildren, Kenedy Knox, Kaelyn Knox, Erica Eaton,
Alexis Eaton, Malleigh Eaton, Jacob Hansen, Mason Miller, Brittany Miller, Farron
Miller, Carson Miller, Lindsey Miller and Tayrn Miller.
He was predeceased by his father, Dean Knox; and his stepfather, Elmer Heinz.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2006, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Donald Kelley officiating. Pallbearers will be Howard King, Dave Muller, Jeremy Knox, Scott Knox, Steve Emery and Jacob Hansen. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to American Heart
Association.
