Mr. Landreth was a member of First Baptist Church in Otterville, American Legion Post 558 in Malta Bend, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 in Sedalia. He enjoyed playing pool, noodling, hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed all the fun family gatherings over the years.
He was a proud World War II veteran of the United States Marines.
Surviving are his wife, of the home; two daughters, Cheryl Page, and her husband, Jerry,
and Tammy Schoen, and her husband, Randy, all of Otterville; two sons, Ron Landreth, of Mexico, and Lanny Landreth, of Warsaw; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Landreth, of Marshall.
He was predeceased by a son, Larry Don Landreth; a daughter-in-law, Jill Landreth; a sister, Frances Lorantos; and a brother, Charles Landreth.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ron Marsh and Jeff Page officiating.
Pallbearers will be Perry Gorrell, Marc Mateja, Brian Landreth, Jim Page, Randy Schoen and Ron Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harry and Joan Wimer, and Harry and Fern Baker.
Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Otterville, with military honors by VFW Post 2591
and the United States Marines.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Lawrence Irvin Landreth, 83, of Otterville, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Grand Pass, a son of Charles C. and Bessie Carter Landreth. On May 18, 1946, in Sedalia, he was married to Bonnie Jean Gochenour.
