Lawrence Dale Caldwell died Monday evening, December 8, 2008, at Rest Haven Convalescent and Retirement Center at age 92. He was born son of George Thomas and Lillian Harwood Caldwell on October 29, 1916. On May 16, 1939, he was married to Helen Marguerite Plankinton, who preceded him in death. To this union was born one child, Leon Dale Caldwell, who died at birth. On October 28, 1981, he was married to Della Mae Saunders, of Sedalia, who preceded him in death. On November 2, 1983, he was married to Lillian J Allcorn, who also preceded him in death.

Lawrence received his education in Johnson County. He was a farmer all his life and for a period of time drove a school bus. He was also a very accomplished gardener.

He became a member of the Christian Church in 1940. He later joined Broadway Baptist Church and was also a member of the Windsor Lodge #29 A.F. and A.M.

He is survived by a brother, Estil Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wives he was preceded in death by his brothers, George Caldwell and Earnest Lee Caldwell.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 11, at Broadway Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Mineral Creek Cemetery in Leeton, Missouri.

Visitation will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home, where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
