Larry Gene Hudson, 70, of Smithton, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born June 15, 1939, in Sedalia, the son of Lee F. and Corene G. Dragus Hudson. On May 31, 1990, in Gravois Mills, he married Sharon Kay Miller, who survives of the home.
Mr. Hudson was a field engineer in the construction industry. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. He was proud of his Native American heritage and was a member of the Chickasaw Nation. He enjoyed woodworking, watching NASCAR and westerns, and playing poker.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Mike Hudson, and his wife, Kristi, of Kingsville, and Todd Hudson, and his wife, Candy, of Sedalia; a daughter-in-law, Monica Hudson, of Smithton; a step-son, Anthony Martin, and his wife, Keesha, of Sedalia; a step-daughter, Christina Levin, and her husband, Josh, of Springfield; a sister, Una F. Lewis, of Springfield; and seven grandchildren, Jayden Hudson, Briana Hudson, Kelsey Hudson, Savanah Hudson, Justin Martin, Maurice Martin, and Jasmine Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Quentin Hudson; and three grandchildren, Ashton Hudson, Jacey Hudson, and Amanda Facey.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Antioch Fellowship Church, with Pastor Harvey Miller officiating.
Casket bearers will be Homer Shackles, Bobby Shackles, Donald Lewis, Mark Lewis, Kevin Dawson, and Bob Dawson.
There will be no visitation. Larry will be cremated following the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
