Helen Isabelle Long, 97, of Sedalia, died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born Aug. 11, 1908, in Smithton, a daughter of Nicholas F. and Christian Mae Elder Koegler.

Mrs. Long was a member of First Christian Church, Order of the Easter Star Chapter 520, National Retired Teachers Association, Missouri State Teachers Association and AARP.

She was a teacher for thirty years, including two years at Smelser Grade School,
four years at Houstonia, 10 years at Lee’s Summit, two years in Johnson County and
two years in Illinois.

Surviving are four nephews, George Hansen, of Fir Crest, Wash., Steven Anderson, of Sumner, Wash., Michael Northcraft, of Lee’s Summit, and Kevin Northcraft, of Tulare, Calif.; four nieces, Barbara Blaylock, of Millington, Tenn., Christine Rodgers, of Calvert City, Ky., Christine Jaquish, of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Deb Waltman, of Brookings, S.D.; and a close family friend, John R. Dirck, of Sedalia.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Nicholas F. Koegler Jr. and Charles E.
Koegler; and four sisters, Letty Clark, Velma Anderson, Alice Northcraft and Clara E.
Hansen.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Marsh officiating.

Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Florence.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the
