Billie E. Loughridge, 75, of Sedalia, died Saturday night, December 13, 2003 at the Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born August 31, 1928, in California, Missouri, son of Mitchell and Lula Cannady Loughridge. On March 19, 1954, in Sedalia, he married Bettie Barlow, who survives of the home.
Mr. Loughridge was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He had worked for Roseland Meat Company for 15 years and had worked for the City of Sedalia Street and Alley Department as a heavy machinery operator until he retired in 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie Loughridge, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Peter Warren, of Sedalia; a brother, Lash Loughridge, of Blue Springs; a sister, Alice Barnes, of Sedalia; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Irwin; four sisters, Pauline Dees, Maxine Loughridge, Hattie Brizdine, Ellen Copas; and four brothers, Lawrence Loughridge; and three in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with Dr. Donald Allcorn and E. Fred Biggs officiating.
Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be W. R. Luckow, Jake Dillon, George Ditzfeld, Roger Vettes, Joe Bass and John Higgins.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Bryant, Bob Haggard, Jess Marquess, Lloyd Paxton, Charlie Amos, Clifford Dickey and Charles Curry.
The family will receive friends from7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
