Lois Irene Rumsey, 92, of Smithton, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at her home.

She was born February 28, 1912, in Salem, Missouri, daughter of Charles Leonard. On
December 2, 1933, in Salem, she married Ben Herbert Rumsey, who survives of the home.

Mrs. Rumsey was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She and her husband were owners of
Stylebrook Cleaners. She enjoyed quilting and had lived in the Smithton area most of her life.

Survivors include her husband, Ben Rumsey, of the home; a son, Bill Rumsey, of Higginsville; a sister, Alberta Ronan, of Thayer; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Leonard; and two sisters, Dale Chapman and Lila Threewit.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the
Rev. Jimmy Gear officiating.

Pallbearers will be David Rumsey, Timothy Rumsey and Daniel Rumsey.

Burial will be in Mt. Herman Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Sunday and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Monday.
