Mildred Alice Leiter Lueninghoener, 95, of Sedalia, died Friday, November 16, 2007, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Cole Camp.

She was born October 6, 1912, in Pettis County, Missouri, a daughter of Ernest "E.C.” and Henrietta T. Anderson Stevens. On June 24, 1934, in Sedalia, she married Leo


T. Leiter, who died September 30, 1962 and on June 4, 1983, she married Archie H.
Lueninghoener, who died August 5, 2001.

Mrs. Lueninghoener was a life long member of Goodwill Chapel Methodist Church.
She was an elementary school teacher for 30 years, teaching at Mosby, High Point, Striped College and Horace Mann schools. She was a member of  the Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed painting and gardening and had lived all of her life in the Sedalia area.

Survivors include, two sons, Tom Leiter and his wife Jackie, of Sedalia and Charles
Leiter and his wife Mona, of Kirksville; four daughters, Betty Green and her husband
Charles, of Sedalia, Barbara Kubelka and her husband Lee, of Ottawa, IL, Virginia Breshears and her husband John, of Warsaw, IL, and Dorothy Rages and her husband Robert, of Florence; a step son, Howard Lueninghoener and his wife Dory, of New Augusta, MS; a step daughter, Lora Bowerman and her husband Don, of Greeley, CO; three brothers, Ernest Stevens, of Orange City, FL, Howard Stevens, of Sherman, TX and Harold Stevens, of Garland, TX; a sister, Henrietta Neimeyer, of Marionville, MO; 23 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and five step grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Herbert Stevens, Chandler Stevens and
Victor Stevens and two sisters, Esther Cooper and Ruth McCune.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Heckart
Funeral Home, with Rev. Ben Mulford and Pastor Robert Jennings officiating.

Pallbearers will be A.C. Kroeger, Jr., Daryl McNew, Matt Kroeger, Shane Fockler,
Mike Harrison and Tony Kroeger.

Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Goodwill Chapel Methodist Church.
