Mrs. Mabbott was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church. She was a cashier and
bookkeeper for A&P Tea Company. She was a member of Headwaters Keyboard Association, Helen G. Steele Music Club, AARP, and the Knife and Fork Club. She played and taught organ, and enjoyed playing cards, dominos and taking trips.
Surviving are a son, Charles Mabbott, and his wife, Kathy, of Canton, Mich.; two
grandchildren, Charles Mabbott Jr. and Krista Piwko; and three great grandchildren, Emily,
Jonathan and Nickolas.
She was predeceased by a sister, Alpha Shrout.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ray McDonald officiating.
Pallbearers will be Craig Piwko, Charles Mabbott Jr., Steve Schwall, Krista Piwko and
Bonnie McGraw-Mabbott.
Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
Friends may call after 12 noon Sunday at Heckart Funeral Home, where the family will
receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to East Sedalia Baptist Church.
Marie A. Mabbott, 93, of Sedalia, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born May 17, 1915, in Syracuse, a daughter of Roger A. and Callie Ann Hamby Gulick. On April 9, 1944, in St. Louis, she was married to Charles B. Mabbott, who died July 24, 1984.
