Mr. Mabry was a member of Sedalia Seventh-Day Adventist Church and a former member of East Sedalia Baptist Church, Scottish Rite, Ararat Shrine, White Shrine No. 38, Sedalia Chapter 57 Order of the Eastern Star, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591, American Legion Post 16, and member and past master of Granite Lodge 272 A.F. and A.M.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He worked as a self-employed
auctioneer. He was a lifelong musician. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his real passion was singing and playing guitar. In the early years of KDRO radio, he performed live shows on the air. In recent years, he enjoyed traveling around to nursing homes with Beatrice Simon to perform for the residents.

Surviving are three sons, Daniel Mabry, of Sedalia, David L. Mabry, of Green
Ridge, and John R. Mabry, of Kansas City; five daughters, Florence Amilia Andrade, of Pearl City, Hawaii, Sandra Lee Dotson, of Sedalia, Mary Lou Heimsoth, of Kansas City, and Bobbie Jo Reynolds and Billie Ann Marsh, both of North Carolina; two brothers, Doyle Ross Mabry, of Cole Camp, and Anthony K. Mabry, of Sedalia; a sister, Louella Reynolds, of Charleston, S.C.; 38 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and Debbie McCall, whom he raised.

He was predeceased by a son, Robert Mabry, Jr.; a daughter, Roberta Mae
Marcum; and three brothers, Bill Mabry, Dudley Mabry and Ivan Mabry.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2005, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Al Oetman officiating.

Pallbearers will be Donald Goodman, Donald E. Goodman, Randy Goodman,
Brandon Goodman, Dennis Heimsoth and Robert Mabry.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 will
conduct military honors at the graveside.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2005, at the funeral home.
Robert L. Mabry, 87, of Warrensburg, formerly of Sedalia and Green Ridge, died Thursday, July 21,
2005, at Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

He was born October 13, 1917, in Cole Camp, a
son of William R. and Rosa Mae Gum Mabry. On
March 8, 1937, in Warsaw, he was married to
Florence Buckley, who died November 17, 1994.
