Gerald D. Maddix, 69, of Mora, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at University of
Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
He was born June 15, 1938, in Collinsville, Okla., a son of Austin Elmer and
Hazel Mae Kerns Maddox. On June 11, 1977, in Phoenix, Ariz., he was married to Diane Wagner, who survives of the home.
Mr. Maddix enjoyed fishing, astronomy and working crossword puzzles. He
also enjoyed spending time with friends from church on Friday nights. He retired
from Escondido Waste Management in 2004, when he moved to Mora from
California.
Also surviving are two sons, Earl M. Maddix, of California, and Mark E.
Maddix, of Arizona; a daughter, Diana L. West, and her husband, Brent, of
California; and a sister, Jean Clark, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five grandchildren,
Michael B. Ready, Matthew Maddix, Abbey Maddix, Brendan West and Joseph
West; and two great grandchildren, Evangeline Ready and Tyrus Ready.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Ruth Wachtman.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Parkview Christian Church, with the Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Anderson, Carl Mittelhauser, David
Avalos, Clarence Shinn and James Wagner.
The family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society.
