Marie “Mug” Mayhan, 85, of Sedalia, died Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Fair View Nursing Home.

She was born January 20, 1921, in Sedalia, a daughter of Bert and Myrtle Cofer Richardson. On May 19, 1951, in Washington, D.C., she married James Mayhan, who died in November of 1965.

Mrs. Mayhan was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Church
Women United and NARFE. She was a 1938 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School and graduated from the Sedalia Business College. She worked as an administrative assistant for the United States Government for 30 years, retiring in 1975.

Survivors include a sister, Cora Reese, Harrison, Ark.; two nieces, Carol Hoehns, Sedalia and Berverly Sharp, Garden City, Kan.; five nephews, Robert Reese, Harrison, Ark., John Richardson, Roy Richardson, Dick Richards and Tom Richardson all of Kansas City.

She was predeceased by a brother Bert Richardson, Jr.; a sister, Lillian Sylvester and a niece Betty Comstock.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Crown Hill Cemetery with Rev. Joan Keele officiating.

There will be no family visitation.
