Maxine Roberta Watson, 86, of Sedalia, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

She was born February 25, 1919, in Elk Creek, Missouri, a daughter of Dr. John Paul and Melvina Ashcraft Cavalier. On October 31, 1937, in Houston, Missouri, she
married Oscar H. “Bus” Watson, who died July 30, 1993.

Mrs. Watson was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Sedalia Chapter 57 Order of the Eastern Star, Taking Off Pounds Sensibly and Rebekah Lodge 260. She retired from Town and Country Shoes, before becoming a homemaker. She had lived in
Sedalia most of her life.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Sue Martin, and her husband, Fred, of Sedalia, and Barbara Jean Stockstill, and her husband, Glen, of Baldwin, Kan.; a son, Jerry Lee Watson, and his wife, Karol, of La Monte; a brother, John Cavalier, of Alvin, Texas; seven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a great great grandson. She was predeceased by three brothers, Sam Cavalier, Lester Cavalier and Paul Cavalier;
and two sisters, Pauline Ingram and Faye Ward.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2005, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Bruce Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Glen R. Stockstill, Jr., John L. “Bimbo” Johnson, Jerry L. Watson, Jr., John F. Martin, Jr., Jeffrey H. Martin, James B. Martin and Bill L. Watson. Honorary bearers will be Mitchell Martin, John Martin III, Lane Hughes, Seth Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Dalton Martin, Hayden Martin, Trevor Martin, Tyler Crawford, Travis Crawford and Benjamin Lee Watson.

The family suggests memorial contributions to New Hope Baptist Church or to a
charity of the donor’s choice.
