Marilyn Jean Williams, 83, of Hughesville, died Monday, March 14, 2005, at her home.
She was born April 6, 1921, in Argentine, Kansas, daughter of George and Reba Redd Illig. On March 15, 1941, in Topeka, Kansas, she married Harold A. Williams, who died August 13, 2004.
Mrs. Williams was a member of First Baptist Church of Houstonia, where she was an excellent Sunday School teacher and had a heart for sharing Jesus with others. She had a passion for beauty and music and enjoyed attending the Helen G. Steele Music Club, Sedalia Symphony and Sedalia Knife and Fork Club. She enjoyed sewing and creating outfits for her five daughters. She was raised in Argentine, Kansas, before moving to Hughesville in 1941. Mrs. Williams was a devoted wife and loving mother, who spent her time and energy raising her family to love God.
Survivors include two sons, H.A. Williams II, and his wife, Darla, and David Williams, and his wife, Janeene, all of Hughesville; five daughters, Jacquelyn Reierson, and her husband, Jerry, of Labadie, Missouri, Janice Lawson, and her husband, Robert, of Madrid, Iowa, Linda McMullin, of Hughesville, Rebecca Banderman, and her husband, Duane, of St. Clair, Missouri, and Anita Hanks, and her husband, Rick, of Kansas City, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two grandsons, Shannon and Kurt Williams; and a granddaughter, Miriam Nelle McMullin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at First Baptist Church of Houstonia, with the Rev. Harold Nicks officiating.
Pallbearers will be John Lawson, Douglas Lawson, Andrew McMullin, Steven Banderman, Mark Banderman, David Banderman, Paul Banderman, Alonzo Williams and Jeremy Williams.
Burial will be in High Point Cemetery near Hughesville.
Friends may call after noon Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Bothwell Hospice.
