Mr. Oliver was a member of South Hills  Presbyterian Church, in California. He was a member of an astronomy club and the REACT Emergency Response Group. He worked as an electrician for Southern California Edison Company for 45 years before retiring in 1989.

Survivors include a son, Richard D. Oliver and his wife Ruth, of Sedalia; three daughters, Cheryl A. Brown and her husband David, of Sedalia, Deanna L. Gillingham and her husband Harold, of Springfield, Missouri, and Lynne A. Austin and her husband Jesse, of Winona, Missouri; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.

He was predeceased by a brother, Phil Oliver.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Heckart Funeral Home with Father Vince Hoying officiating.

Pallbearers will be Kris Dollinger, Daniel Groves, Craig Shipley, Jeff Shipley, Glen Shipley and Dave Brown.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Robert Neuman Oliver, 83, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born October 29, 1924, in El Paso, Texas, a son of Dr. Oliver and Mary Weaver. On September 23, 1944, in Pomona, California, he married Marilyn Elizabeth Morrell, who preceded him in death on August 29, 2001.
