Eva Martha Owen, 98, of Hemet, Calif., died Tuesday, October 19, 2004, at
Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
She was born April 20, 1906, in Sedalia, daughter of John Wesley and Melinda Ethelene Branden Looney. In 1929, in Sedalia, she was married to Harold V. Owen, who died June 8, 1981.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Robert E. Smith, of Hemet; two grandchildren, Kim Owen Smith and Melinda Eve Smith, both of Corona, Calif.; and a great grandson, James Christian Smith.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Ethelene D. Smith; four brothers, Bill,
Harry, Argus and Clyde; and two sisters, Daisy Looney and Irene Schmidt.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2004, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Marlin Brown officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bob Cunningham, Bob Wasson, Charlie Curry, Vernon
Horn, Leonard Singer, Tom Smith, Emmett Fairfax and Zeb Thomas.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of the donor’s
choice.
