Ralph Philip Dow, 50, of Las Vegas, died Thursday, October 21, 2004, at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.

He was born August 6, 1954, in Sedalia, son of Ralph W. “Stub” and Lylian Hurley Dow. He was adopted by his aunt, Irel Hurley Adams when both of his parents died in 1962.

Mr. Dow was a lighting engineer for Las Vegas shows. He graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1972, the University of Colorado in 1976, and earned a master’s degree from the California Institute of Arts in 1978. He was a member of the Stage Union, Alcoholic’s Anonymous, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Las Vegas. As a child, he was an Eagle Scout.

Survivors include two adopted sisters, Janet Proctor, of Sedalia, and Carolyn Beaudette, of Panama City Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, November 5, at Sacred Heart Church, with Father Vincent Hoying officiating.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated. Friends may sign the guest register online at www.heckart-gillespie.com.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Sacred Heart Building Fund or Smith-Cotton Alumni Association.
