Helen Peoples, 75, of Knob Noster, died Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at her
home.

She was born July 15, 1929, in Smithton, daughter of George F. and Margaret
Bishop Oswald. On November 1, 1947, in Otterville, she was married to Carl Peoples, who survives of the home.

Mrs. Peoples was a member of Elkins Christian Church. She worked for Dr. K.E.
Magness for seventeen years. She had also worked a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward and Western Auto. She was a graduate of Syracuse High School.

She loved the outdoors and was closest to God in her garden. She enjoyed being
surrounded by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Peoples, of the home; three daughters, Norma
Crosby, of Kansas City, Debbie Fenton, and her husband, Jim, and Carla Cushing, all of Lee’s Summit; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four sisters, Alma Peoples and Betty Higgins, both of La Monte, Ruth Fowler, of Flemington, and Virginia Palmer, of Sedalia.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Elmer Oswald, Allen Oswald and George
“Mac” Oswald.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2005, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Don Palmgren officiating.

Pallbearers will be Larry Peoples, Gary Peoples, Mike Palmer, Mark Watring, Frank Oswald and Bobby Oswald. Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Oswald, Kenneth Oswald, Dennis Oswald, Paul Oswald and Jimmy Oswald.

Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2005, at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Johnson County Hospice or Syracuse
Cemetery.
