Ms. Periman was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting and doing genealogy.

She moved here from Kansas City in 1992, where she worked 30 years for the U.S. Postal Service as a secretary.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary D. Gray, and her husband, Terry, of Sedalia; a son, Richard L. Periman, of Sedalia; a brother, Frank Swanson, of Topeka, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; a son, James G. Periman; and a brother, Warren Swanson.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Donald J. Allcorn officiating.

Pallbearers will be Terry Gray, Danny Gray, David Gray, Anthony Aiello, Charlie Amos and Fred Biggs.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Betty Lou Periman, 78, of Sedalia, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born July 30, 1928, in Tulsa, Okla., a daughter of Fred Axel and Mary Ethel Anthony Swanson.
