Joan Perkins, 86, of Sedalia, died Sunday, December 28, 2003 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born January 9, 1917, in Rockport, Missouri, daughter of the Rev. Luther Clyde and Eva Evelyn Shishler Robinson. In 1963, in Warrensburg, she was married to Carlton A. Perkins, who died in 1988.
Mrs. Perkins was a member of Parkview Christian Church. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 16 Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star. She worked as an activity therapist for Western Missouri Mental Health in Kansas City.
Surviving are two daughters, Kay Green, of Sedalia, and Carole Molder, of North Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Whitfield; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.
Pallbearers will be Mike Heuerman, Kevin Heuerman, Patrick Elmlinger, Steven Lefevers, Jim Whitfield and Mike Whitfield.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
