Ms. Rayl was an auction clerk and cashier. She enjoyed quilting, feeding birds, gardening, shopping and antiquing. She was a member of the Christian Church in Dunksburg, Women of the Moose Post 1242, and BPW. She worked for many years at Around the Fireside. She was a 1974 graduate of Northwest High School.
Surviving are her companion, Laverne Scotten, of Sedalia; her mother, Ruby Brummet, of Sedalia; her father, Norman Rayl, and his wife, Doris, of Vinita, Okla.; two sisters, Susan Marie Dougan, of Sedalia, and Karen Louise Rayl, of Green Ridge; a niece, Katie Marie Dougan; and a nephew, Brian Edward Rayl.
She was preceded in death by her step father, Edward Brummet; and her grandparents.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Gene Smith and the Rev. Tony Chapman officiating.
Pallbearers will be Doug Logus, Keith Singer, Tim Schelp, Tim Phipps, Mike Carter and Dirk Scotten. Honorary pallbearers will be Sandy Norcross, Kathy Herrick, Janice Pummill, Charlotte Schelp, Linda Bray, Jan Clemons and Dana Marcum.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the Women of the Moose Post 1242 will hold a service at 8 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Mooseheart School.
Norma J. Rayl, 50, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born June 4, 1956, in Independence, a daughter of Norman Eugene Rayl and Ruby Moore Brummet.
