Rubin G. Ries, 91, of Sedalia, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Four Seasons Living Center.

He was born August 6, 1913, a son of John and Ida Schneck Ries. On September 6, 1941, in Pilot Grove, he was married to Melba Fredrich, who survives of the home.

Mr. Ries was a member of Parkview Christian Church, where he was in the Good
Samaritan Sunday school class and Be Forever Young. He worked for Pittsburg
Corning, retiring from there in 1978. He was an United States Army Military Police
Veteran of World War II. He served overseas in the European Theater. He had lived
in Sedalia since 1942.

Also surviving are a brother, Robert Ries, of Independence; two sisters, Lorene Stegner, of New Franklin, and Helen Boyer, of Boonville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother Edward Ries.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Parkview Christian Church with Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.

Pallbearers will be John Detherage, Rick Thomas, Ron Welge, Mike Matchael, Moe McCoy and Max Fields.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel.

Memorials are suggested to the church or to Koinonia Heights.
