Mr. Rothganger worked in electrical construction and was a member of Local Union 124. He was known for welding animals out of scrap iron. He enjoyed farming and hunting artifacts.
Surviving are two sons, Johnnie E. Rothganger, of Hughesville, and Charles Rothganger, and his wife, Kay, of Weston; a sister, Dorothy Chambers, of Kansas City; four grandchildren, John Edward Rothganger, Robert Charles Rothganger, Julie Ann Pflughaupt, and Michael Eugene Rothganger; and one great grandson.
He was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Rothganger; and a sister, Mildred French.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2006, at Mt. Herman Cemetery, with the Rev. Bob Wasson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ed Friedly, Marvin Cunningham, Pat Allen, Harry Farris, Bob Mock and Louis Dickmann.

George Rothganger, 91, of Sedalia, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at Fair View Nursing Home.
He was born June 12, 1915, in Pettis County, a son of George Ernest and Edith Thornton Rothganger. On June 12, 1937, in Sedalia, he was married to Margaret V. Mittenberg, who died Jan. 21, 1994.
