Leroy Ryan, 91, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, formerly of Green Ridge, died Tuesday afternoon, April 6, 2004 at his home.
He was born December 18, 1912, in Green Ridge, Missouri, son of Arthur and Edna Denney Ryan. On December 19, 1942, in Sedalia, Missouri, he married Doris Juanita Binder, who died March 13, 2000.
Mr. Ryan was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and was a farmer. He had served as president of the Green Ridge School Board and on the Board of Directors of what is now Community Bank. He had also served for 24 years on the Board of Directors of REA Electric Cooperative.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Emis, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and four grandchildren, Ryan Emis, Keith Emis, Meredith Emis and John Emis, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2004 at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Roger Nelson officiating. Pallbearers will be Ryan Emis, Keith Emis, John Emis, Bill Mergen, Johnny Meyers and Stephen Ryan.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
The family suggests contributions to Antioch Baptist Church.
