Tom J. Saybo, 47, of Syracuse, died Monday, July 5, 2004, at Sterret Creek near Warsaw.

He was born August 27, 1956, in Heidelberg, Germany, son of Kal L. and Edie Choos Saybo. On December 21, 1977, in Tacoma, Washington, he married Michelle Monchamp, who survives of the home.


Mr. Saybo worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue at the Truman Building in Jefferson City. He retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service in Minot, North Dakota.

He was a member of the American Gold Wing Association. He volunteered for the Muscular Dystrophy Association telethons for over thirty years.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle Saybo, of the home; his mother, Edie Saybo, of Graham, Wash.; a sister, Susan Morisset, of Graham, Wash.; those he thought of as sisters, Punky Townzen, Kathi Disedare, and Karen Thomas, all of Syracuse, and Jeannie Coons, of Tacoma, Wash.; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his two dogs, Pookie and Munchkin.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2004, at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home in Sedalia, with Tom White officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
