During his lifetime, Mr. Schilb was very active in many organizations in Sedalia, including the Elks Lodge, Noonday Optimist, Moose Lodge # 1494, Missouri Moose Association, American War Dads, and T.P.A. He was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Ann, survivors include two sons, William Kenneth Schilb Jr., and Kelley Eugene Schilb, both of Kansas City; four grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and five step-children.

In addition to his wife, Evelyn, he was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Bud Schilb.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 17, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Donald J. Allcorn officiating.

Casket bearers will be John David Schilb, Kent Schilb, Mike Crum, Danny Crum, Chris Hatfield, and Bud Collins.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.


William Kenneth Schilb, Sr., 89, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at his home.

He was born December 22, 1919, in Otterville, a son of William J. and Eula Ava Schilb. On May 9, 1942, in Sedalia, he married Evelyn Dimple Kelley, who died January 20, 1995. On February 14, 1999, in Sedalia, he married Elizabeth Ann Curtis Crum, who survives of the home.
