Luella Marie Schlesselman, 98, of Sedalia, died Monday morning, January 5, 2004, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born November 27, 1905, in Pettis County, daughter of Fred and Emma Schupp Schlesselman.
Miss Schlesselman was a member of Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church and volunteered at Open Door. She worked for JCPenney for 25 years as a clerk. She loved gardening, yard work and her church.
Survivors include a nephew, Marvin Vajen, of Osage Beach; a niece, Arlene Manuel, of Sedalia; great nephews; and a great niece. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Schlesselman; a sister, Lillie Vajen; and a nephew, Vern Dean Schlesselman.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Mel Peterson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Don Schlesselman, Richard Schlesselman, Dean Manuel, Bret Manuel, Bill Dey and Bill Smith.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 7 at the Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
