Darrell Clinton Sebring, 61, of Sedalia, died Monday, March 15, 2004 at his home.
He was born, June 4, 1942, in Clay Center, Kansas, son of Clinton Ernest and Lucille Hileman Sebring. On December 30, 1966, in Madison, Kansas, he married Patricia Smith, who survives of the home.
Mr. Sebring was a member of First United Methodist Church. He worked for Heartland Farm and Lawn, formerly Anson Implement, in Higginsville, Missouri. He loved hunting, fishing, playing baseball, softball and bowling. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the First Infantry.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Sebring, of the home; his father, Clinton Sebring, of Lake Lillian, Minnesota; two sons, Bruce Sebring, and his wife, Karen, of Gardner, Kansas, and Curtis Sebring, and his wife, Danielle, of Independence, Missouri; a daughter, Leann Shackles, and her husband, Percy, of Sedalia; five brothers, Paul Sebring, of Raymond, Minnesota, Roy Sebring, of Minnesota, Terry Sebring, of Nashville, Tennessee, John Sebring, of Svea, Minnesota, and Micheal Sebring, of Willmar, Minnesota; eight sisters, Maydean Petersen, of Willmar, Minnesota, Linda Cooley, of Perry, Iowa, Judy Nephew, of Raymond, Minnesota, Alice Aasen, of Willmar, Minnesota, Iris Rocha, of Sioux City, Iowa, Beverly Hasbrook, of Clay Center, Kansas, Janice Noor, of Everett, Washington, and Brenda Tuve, of Montevideo, Minnesota; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2004 at the First Methodist Church Celebration Center, with the Rev. Jim Downing officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Anson, Dave Mittelhauser, Chris Buchanan, Larry Claycomb, Steve Sebring and Mike Welling. Honorary pallbearers will be Trade Hileman, Walter McBride, Dale Vinson, Bob Gregory, J.D. Gregory and Mark Hileman.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the church.
