Erma Louise Sherrill, 71, of Smithton, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born July 1, 1935, in Blair’s Creek, Missouri, a daughter of Elmer Tony and Nellie Mae Stroup Cook. On September 15, 1951, in Eminence, Missouri, she married Johnnie J. Sherrill, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Sherrill was a member of the Church of God, in Sedalia. She was a homemaker
and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and loved cooking for everyone that she could. She helped Johnnie in the upholstery shop for many years. She lived most of her life in Loveland, Colorado, then moving to Smithton in 1986.
Also surviving are two sons, Steve Sherrill and his wife Gwyn, of Sedalia, Michael
A. Sherrill and his wife Karin, of Gilbert, AZ.; two daughters, Barbara Sugg and her
husband Ernie, of Glasgow, MT, Shirley Sherrill, of Mesa, AZ.; three brothers, Arthur
Cook, Ellington, MO, Cecil Cook, Florence, MO, and Jerry Cook, Otterville; four sisters, Bernice Kuntz, Pittsburg, PA., Lorrine Turner, Guthrie, Okl., Judy Masterson, Warsaw, and Linda Chitwood, Farmington, MO.; seven grandchildren, Maria Sugg, Joe Sugg, Zachary Sherrill, Amanda Green, Bryan Sherrill, Andrew Sherrill and Jacob Sherrill.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Bernell Cook, Winfred Cook and Lawrence
Cook.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Heckart/Gillespie
Colonial Chapel with Rev. Sid Mabry officiating.
Pallbearers will be Steve Sherrill, Michael Sherrill, Donnie Sherrill, Cecil Cook, Dave Randolph and Pete Sherrill.
Honorary bearers will be Sonny Vansell, Herbert Turner, Fred Masterson, Jerry Cook, Zachary Sherrill and Ernie Sugg.
Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2007 at
the funeral home.
