Genevieve Shipley, 87, of Sedalia, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Bothwell
Regional Health Center.
She was born Oct. 1, 1919, in Parsons, Kan., a daughter of J.B. And Irene
Smith Shull. On Oct. 31, 1938, in Kansas City, she was married to F.H. Shipley, who died March 16, 1982.
Mrs. Shipley was an LPN at Bothwell Regional Health Center, retiring in
1981. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 ladies auxiliary and attended Parkview Christian Church. She was a 1937 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She loved her dog, Cheeta.
Surviving are a son, Edmond Shipley, of Pontotoc, Miss.; a daughter, Irene
Leota Swank, of Gladstone; and four grandchildren, Scott, Markel, Wendy and
Edmond Jr.
She was predeceased by a brother, Allen Shull; and three sister, Ferol Adams,
Libby Hughes and Bernice Raines.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at Crown Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Rodney Brown officiating.
There will be no formal visitation, however friends may call from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m. Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online at
