Zona worked at Town and Country Shoes for thirty years, where she sewed sample shoes. She retired in 1976. Zona has been in the Sedalia community most of her life. She member of the First Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening flowers, sewing, and her pets.

Survivors include her two sons Charles Green and Earl Green of Sedalia, one daughter Vicki Poort, of Sedalia, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers Monroe Todd, Howard Todd, and Burvelle C. Todd, one sister Mona Frisbie, three sons Walter Green, Larry Green, Dan J. Green, one daughter Joan Thompson, two grandsons Earl W. Green, Jr., and Andrew Thompson.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Heckart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Green.

Pallbearers David Pratt, Patrick Green, Duane McNew, Seth McNew, Ryan Green, Steve Short.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Zona Ethel Shipps, 95, of Tipton formerly of Sedalia, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at the Tipton Oak Manor.

Mrs. Shipps was born April 26, 1913, in Friestatt, Missouri, a daughter of John H. and Florence N. Richardson Todd. She married Dan P. Green Jr. in 1930 and in 1952she married Harry Shipps.
