Hazel Virginia Simmons, 93, of Sedalia, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at her
home.
She was born Nov. 25, 1912, in Sedalia, a daughter Homer Grant Ashbrook.
On Aug. 14, 1933, in Sedalia, she was married to Willard Lee Simmons, who died Sept. 28, 1990.
Mrs. Simmons returned to Sedalia in 1977, upon her husband’s retirement
from Union Pacific Railroad. Prior to returning here, she was a member of Eastern Star in Caliente, Nevada. She worked in the election department at Los Angeles City Hall. She enjoyed reading and was proud of her grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Patti Griswold, of Corning, Calif.; a brother, Homer
Ashbrook, of Sedalia; two grandsons, James Lee Griswold and Bradley Clayton
Griswold; and a great granddaughter.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at Crown Hill Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
