Donald Paul Simon, 70, of Beebe, Ark., died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at White County Medical Center in Searcy, Ark.

He was born March 3, 1936, in Sedalia, a son of Paul Albert and Anna Louise Biere Simon. On March 9, 1963, in Sedalia, he was married to John Kay Elsenrath, who survives of the home.
Mr. Simon lived in Sedalia until two months ago. He worked for Town & Country Shoes for 33 years and Quality Rubber for 12 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Christ & Trinity Lutheran Church and Moose Lodge 1494. He was a 1954 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He enjoyed weather watching and forecasting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sons, Stanley Simon, and his wife, Jeanette, of Beebe, Ark., and Michael Hartman, and his wife, Donna, of Osage Beach; three daughters, Debby Manley, of Sedalia, Nancy Pryor, and her husband, Dan, of Concho, Ariz., and Valarie Ream, of Sedalia; a sister, Henrietta “Skip” Bremer, of Hughesville; eleven grandchildren, Steven Manley, Angela Lester, Bear Manley, Bobby Joe Pennington, Shelby Hartman, Jake Hartman, Mark Ream, Katherine Ream, Stanley Simon II, Trevor Paul Simon and Alexander Simon; seven great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Simon, of Sedalia; and a brother-in-law, David Bowman, of Sedalia.

He was predeceased a brother, Ellwood Simon; and three sisters, Geraldine Bryant, Millicent DeFreese and Norma Bowman.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with Bro. Tim Gaddy officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
