and Smith-Cotton High School. In 1978, he received his G.E.D. He received his welding degree from State Fair Community College and worked for Parkhurst Manufacturing. He received his CDL and drove for Doty's Moving and Storage in Sedalia, and Heartland Storage in Omaha, NE. Next he began driving over-the-road trucks for Trans Am Trucking, Knight Transportation, and Kenwood Trucking. He loved listening to country music, collecting cd's, reading true story novels, and playing games on his computer. In 2004, his health began to fail and he had to give up the job he loved of driving.

Surviving are his mother, Mary Jane Martin, of Sedalia; four brothers, Buddy Rogers, of Sedalia, Robby Martin, of Lindsborg, KS, Rick Martin, of Sedalia, and Michael G. Slaughter, of Arkansas; three sisters, Debi Keeton, of Sedalia, Sheri Jones, of Salina, KS, and Terry Slaughter, of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; and his stepfather, Bob Martin.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Mandy Wiedeman officiating.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Rogers, Matthew Martin, Michael Martin, Corey Weir, Cody Slaughter, Chris Hieronymus, Johnus Dhority and Bobby Rumsey.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family, in care of the funeral home.
Arthur Daniel "Danny" Slaughter, 47, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009, at his home.

He was born December 4, 1961, in Sedalia, a son of Arthur Gene Slaughter and Mary Jane Petree Slaughter.

He was baptized on March 30, 1972, at First Christian Church of Sedalia. He attended Mark Twain Elementary
