Roy Lee Stewart, 92, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at Fair View
Nursing Home.

He was born May 9, 1914, in Pleasant Green, MO.,  a son of William M. and Anna
Belle Hayes Stewart.

Mr. Stewart was a member of Pleasant Green United Methodist Church. Roy held
various jobs in security, worked for Ford Motor Company, and was a supervisor at a Wire Craft Plant in Chicago, Illinois.

He was a Marine Corps veteran, where in just a few short years he rose to the rank
of Master Technical Sergeant and was a rifle sharpshooter. He served our country in the Pacific region from January 1943 to August 1944. He was honorably discharged in June of 1946.

Most recently, he lived in the Sedalia area and was a self-taught clock and radio
repairman. He was known in Sedalia as “The Clock Man.” He developed many friends and acquaintances through his love of clocks and antiques.

Survivors include a two brothers, Bill Stewart, of Raytown, and Allen Stewart, of
St. Joseph; a sister, Edna Schlotzhauer, of Lenexa, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Richard Stewart.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Michael Lockhart officiating.

Pallbearers will be Robert Schlotzhauer, Ronald Schlotzhauer, Rodger Schlotzhauer,
Roycee Schlotzhauer, Gil Stewart and John Oldham.

Burial will be in Pleasant Green Cemetery, north of Clifton City.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
