Mr. Strelow was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He worked as a farmer and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing and participating in the Sedalia Jolly Elders. He had lived most of his life in Pettis County.
Also surviving are a step-son, Dennis Mueller, and his wife, Debbie, of Sedalia; two step-daughters, Karen Bussell, of Palm Bay, Florida, and Debbie Wilken, and her husband, Bill, of Sedalia; a sister, Helen Kreisel, of Sedalia; five step-grandchildren, Bobby Bussell, Jeremy Bussell, Nick Fine, Kim Wilken and Kay Wilken; and a step-great granddaughter.
He was predeceased by a brother, Herbert Strelow.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2007, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, with Pastor Richard Foss officiating.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Larry Strelow, Delbert Strelow, Jim Strelow, Bill Kreisel, Ralph Kreisel, Jr. and Sam Fleak.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Our Savior Lutheran Church or
Children’s Therapy Center.
William August Strelow, 92, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp.
He was born September 6, 1914, in Abernathy, Texas, a son of Ferdinand and Elsbeth Krause Strelow. On February 23, 1941, he married Mary G. Stein, who died May 12, 1980. On November 14, 1980, in Sedalia, he married Edna Monsees Mueller, who survives of the home.
