Helen Kathryn “Kate” Sudduth, 85, of Smithton, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
She was born Dec. 2, 1921, in Otterville, a daughter of Frank Blunt and Adaline Marie Brauer Page. On Fe. 20, 1946, in Bahner, she was married to William John Sudduth, who died April 24, 1978.
Mrs. Sudduth was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Bahner, Country
Homemakers Extension Club, St. John’s Altar Society, Smithton Senior Citizens and
AARP. She worked on the farm with her husband, and continued the operation after
his death. She was a 1939 graduate of Smithton High School and attended CMSU.
Surviving are two daughters, Alice Rayl, and her husband, Russell, of Smithton, and Janet Smith, and her husband, Robert, of Smithton; a brother, Frank Page, of Stover; a sister, Nevelle Doogs, of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Stacey Sisemore, Wesley Rayl and Betsy Rayl; and three great grandchildren, Noah Sisemore, Elliott Rayl and Kaela Rayl.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Claude Page and George H. Page; and four sisters, Lauvera Hagan, Louise Mertgen, Velma Dittmer and Susie Rages.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Father Vincent Hoying officiating.
Pallbearers will be Berton Cook, Harry Brauer, Philip Monsees, Dale Monsees, Warren Anderson and Paul Culp Jr.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rosary preceding the service.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Golden Age Living Center medical equipment fund.
