Timothy Montgomery Fischer, 61, of Sedalia, died Saturday, April 20, 2007, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born, March 18, 1946, in Columbia, Missouri, a son of Denzil and Dixie Montgomery Fischer. On September 4, 1971, in Higginsville, Missouri, he married Mary Walker who survives.
Tim grew up in Sedalia and graduated from Smith cotton High School in 1964.
He joined the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in Japan and the Phillippines during
the Vietnam War. He was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal and
Rifle Sharpshooter badge. He attended University of Missouri Columbia and received
a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.

He loved to do carpentry work and outfitted campers for the Children’s Therapy
Center of Sedalia. He and his family moved to Seattle, WA in 1985. He worked as a
crew chief on form crews to expand and improve freeways and bridges. He planned to
retire in April 2007 and move back to Sedalia so he could go fishing with his family. He
was hampered by a large stroke that paralyzed his left side on March 19, 2007.

Tim spent his life building a better world for those around him. He was proud of
his work, and it stands as a monument to his memory, helping others even after he is
gone. He leaves behind many friends and will be greatly missed.

Also surviving are a son, Ethan Fischer and his wife Vivienne, North Hollywood,
Cal., a daughter, Elizabeth Fischer, Raytown; three sisters, Sharon Fausett, Kimberling
City, Bonnie Christy, Raytown and Allison Fischer, Sedalia.

There will be a private memorial at his sister Allison’s residence in Sedalia.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heckart/Gillespie Funeral
Home.
