on January 16, 1946. The Thomson’s live in Kansas City until Robert’s transfer to St. Louis in 1969. Robert passed away in 1974.

Verna worked in the credit department of A.M. Castle Steel in Kansas City and retired from  Mallinckrodt Chemical in St. Louis.

She was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Bridgeton.  She also volunteered at the Humane Society of Missouri and she loved animals. Verna loved being a homemaker and especially spending time with all of her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter Jeri Tappel and her husband Vince of St. Charles, a son, Robert and his wife Susan Thomson, Ironton, 6 grandchildren, Christopher Thomson, Beth Bridwell, Kathy Niermann, David Thomson, Eddie and Angie Tappel and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Connor

Funeral services will be held at the Heckart Funeral Home on Saturday, February 23, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Prange officiating.

Pallbearers will be Chris Thomson, David Thomson, Eddie Tappel, Mike Bridwell, Jay Bogle   and Scott Niermann.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

         The family suggests memorial contributions go to the Alzheimer Foundation or the Humane Society of Missouri.
Verna Mae Thomson, 80, of O’Fallon, formerly of Sedalia, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the St. Peters Barnes Jewish Hospital.
