Mr. Perkins was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was the office manager for Sedalia Cold Storage, retiring in May 2008. He collected books and had a love for reading, which he shared with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Scott Walker Perkins, and his wife, Kristin, of Fox Island, Washington; a daughter, Tammy Spratley, and her husband, Doug, of West Plains; two grandsons, Jared and Morgan Spratley; a sister, Darlene Pluger, of Beaver Creek, Ohio; and two nephews, Christopher Pluger, of Ohio, and Todd Pluger, of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Downing officiating.
Casket bearers will be Bruce Spratley, Allen Spratley, William Garrison, Arthur Sims, Phillip Pettiford and Tom Jennewein.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at Heckart Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bothwell Hospice or Mid-MO Humane Society.
Ted Walker Perkins, 64, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at his home.
He was born Dec. 31, 1943, in Sedalia, the son of Donald F. and Eunice M. Walker Perkins. On Nov. 7, 1976, in Sedalia, he married Patricia A. Fuchs, who survives of the home.
