Mr. Trachsler attended the First Church of God.  While attending college at Southern Illinois University, he served as associate pastor at First Church of God in Herron, Illinois. He worked as a supervisor for Vocational Rehabilitation later becoming State Director of Personal Assistant Services Program and currently was Executive Director of West Central Independent Living Solutions (W.I.L.S) were he worked for over 20 years. He was a champion for people with disabilities. Lyman was recently
appointed on January 30, 2008, by Governor Blunt as the Representative for independent living centers to the Missouri Health Net Comprehensive entry point system for long term care committee. He was a Navy Corpsman of the Vietnam War attached to the Marines. He enjoyed metal detecting, fishing, coin collecting and spending time with his many friends. He had lived in Sedalia for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife Betty, of the home; two sisters, Dyanne Godt, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas and Sandra Brice, of Rock Springs, Wisconsin; a brother, Terrance Trachsler, of Ephrata, Washington; many nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Heckart Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Gear officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dan Riley, Bob Riley, Joe Riley, Brian Godt, Gary Schubring, Mike Cahoon.

Funeral services and burial will on Wednesday March 12, 2008 at Walnut Hill Cemetery, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, with arrangements under the direction of Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home.

The family suggested memorial contributions to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.
Lyman Oliver Trachsler, Jr., 61, of Sedalia, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at his home.

He was born January 1, 1947, in Cotulla, Texas, a son of Lyman Oliver and Lucille Carlow Trachsler, Sr.  On October 28, 1967, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, he married Betty Jean Riley, who survives of the home.
