Nina Mary Tripp, 92, of Stover, formerly of Smithton, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Golden Age Living Center in Stover.

She was born Oct. 17, 1915, in Smithton, a daughter of John Joseph and Mary Ann Mollie Yeager. On May 28, 1954, in Waterloo, Iowa, she was married to Leonard Y.
Tripp, who died Nov. 13, 1993.
Mrs. Tripp graduated from Smithton High School in 1933. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Central Missouri State Teachers College and a master’s degree from University of Missouri. She was an elementary school teacher in Missouri, Iowa and South Dakota.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was also involved in the Southeastern Gem and
Mineral Society, past president of Y’s Matrons of the YWCA, Quilters Guild, Bartic
Roundtable Poetry club, and past secretary of Golden Glow class. She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years and was loyal in visiting homebound and nursing home residents. Nina will always be remembered for her warm smile and the unconditional love she gave to all.

She enjoyed collecting thimbles, dolls, rocks, marbles and spoons, and writing poetry.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Tripp,of Florida, and William Tripp, and his wife,
Lynda, of Smithton; a daughter, Victoria Kock, of Georgetown, N.Y.; and eight
grandchildren, Misty Cloyd, Tyrel Weber, Tamera Tripp, Jessica Tripp, Will Tripp, Andy Tripp and Thomas Tripp and Anna Tripp; a great grandson, Logan Cloyd; and cousins, Chuck Hansford and Leslie Ann Wipf.

She was also predeceased by a brother, John Yeager; a sister, in infancy; and a
cousin, Tempie Hazel Harris Hansford.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jason Veale officiating.

Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the
funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Golden Age Living Center, or
Butterfield Youth Services.
